It's a very long story, but the bottom line is, TAG Auto saved my road trip and my budget!  My car broke down on Father's Day, so they were closed, but they had diagnosed and repaired the many issues before noon on Monday.  They came to pick us up at the hotel before check-out time, gave me a very reasonable rate for the repairs, and were working on a police car when I left.  EXCELLENT service, sweet man, very helpful to a frazzled and frantic traveler.  They almost make me want to move to Flagstaff, just to have someone reliable to care for my car!

TAG Automotive helped us out and were extremely gracious.  Visiting Flagstaff for a day trip on a Saturday and discovering that your radiator is not all it once was caused a moment of panic that was quickly dispelled by Tom Priest as he diagnosed the truck and fixed it right up.  He drove us over to Beaver Street to entertain ourselves while he worked on it and then picked us up just a short time later.  Price was very fair, the guys were so nice, and my truck is happy once again.  I wish they were closer...they would get all my business!!!

Both of my brake lights were out so NAPA Auto Parts suggested that I go to TAG before I ordered a part.  The people at NAPA said that normally both lights don't go out at the same time, but when I got to TAG, about 30 minutes before closing time, and on a Friday no less, they were happy to help me.  They looked at my car, and turns out, it was just both brake lights needing new bulbs!  They quickly helped me out.  I will definitely be back to TAG when I need new brake pads.

Honest mechanics are few and far between. Gene and Tom are the exceptions! I'm always hesitant to visit a mechanic- there are so many bad ones out there, you never know what you're dealing with. I've been to TAG multiple times with 3 different vehicles. Gene and Tom have always been honest, straight forward, and good on their pricing. There's been more than one time where they could have lied and ripped me off, but they told me they were truthful. I had a front wheel bearing go out on my old car. I was ready to replace both front wheel bearings, but they talked me out of it- they talked me out of paying them more money! My truck quit running while on the road, and I had it towed to TAG. I was expecting potentially $600+ in repairs. They determined it was something with the ignition, which ran $150- again, they could have lied, and charged way more, but they were honest! Stop by or call TAG before visiting anywhere else in town!

The battery warning light went off on a 2005 Toyota Highlander and the car would not start. Called 4 Flagstaff shops. TAG was the only one who answered their phone. TAG arranged to have the car towed to their shop at a very reasonable fee. Evaluated the problem, replaced the alternator, and only what needed to be replaced: no unnecessary add-ons. I made the initial call to TAG at 10 AM, the car was towed at 11 AM, and the alternator was replaced by 2 pm. DONE before the end of the day and at the low end of the cost estimate range. Trustworthy shop.

When we moved up here we left our trusted mechanic in Phoenix. Eventually, there would have to be some vehicle maintenance on out four vehicles. This place was suggested to us so we gave it a try. They turned out to be trustworthy and fair priced. When we take a vehicle in, we don't have to worry about getting ripped off. This is our go-to place from oil changes to vehicle maintenance. It's one less thing we have to worry about when that pesky engine light pops on. They do give a military discount, which is always appreciated.

I am going on 20 years living in Flagstaff and have been to many mechanics.  While there are several fantastic mechanics in town we took our automobile to TAG years ago and never looked back.  They have worked on our Acura MDX, Mazda 3, Nissan Titan, Honda Accord, and one other vehicle I think, and 100% of the time the cost is less than what I expected.  Also, I have never had to take any automobiles back...they fix it right the first time.  Finally, they are intelligent and personable which is why we will never go anywhere else.  Trust me, I have owned a LOT of crappy and a few decent cars, and TAG has never let me down. I have actually let my car sit for a week and took the bus during one of their busy times rather than take it to another mechanic.  They are the best in town, period.

Gene and Tom know how to take care of cars. Luckily, we've never had a major issue that needed fixing but they are sure to take care of all of our auto needs. We had an Audi that required "specialized" care and we didn't think we had many options up here but TAG automotive was able to do a parts replacement and multiple oil changes without issue for less than anywhere else. I definitely recommend TAG automotive for any mechanical auto needs.
